Lana was born and raised in Belgrade, capital of former Yugoslavia. Growing up with musician parents, she started her piano education at an early age. Her voice was discovered in her late teens, and she began her training in classical vocal performance. Two years after graduating from University of Music in Belgrade, she was awarded a Master of Music degree in performance. Lana became a vocal and chamber music coach at one of the major music schools, while continuing to perform opera roles and recitals.

She did not pursue her musical career after moving to the United States, but shifted to work as an Executive Assistant/Coordinator. Before moving to Florida, her last tenure was with a company in Chicago which helped low income families get their first home.

A light motif of Lana’s work throughout her career was always - help: providing help so her students can reach their goals through vocal training, helping low income families get better homes, and at Insight, helping people hear what they can’t read in print. The result of her work was always visible.

Lana is thrilled at the opportunity to join Insight for the Blind as Volunteer Coordinator, working with amazingly devoted volunteers and staff on organizing assignments and schedules, as well as working on word lists for pronunciation to facilitate recordings which bring vision to those who can’t see.
